NSD Crop Challenge | Line It Up with Lisa Truesdell

Hey, all! I know that one of the biggest challenges with starting a project is figuring out where to put everything. A blank background can be daunting! The next time you're pondering just where to start—why not try lining it up?

For this page, I started with a series of photos from our trip to Denver last summer. After shifting them around my page for a bit, I realized that they'd have a much bigger impact if I grouped them together. I lined them up in a row down my background paper and loved the effect.

To loosen up the lines a bit, I messy stamped a mat for my row of photos with the ledger stamp from the Bistro add-on. I adhered all my photos right down the middle of the stamping, and then began filling in around them with embellishments and bits of patterned paper—and I couldn't resist going for a bit of a rainbow effect in the process!

While I used photos for this challenge, there are so many possibilities. Line up pieces of patterned paper, or enamel dots, or a stamp. I can't wait to see what you create!

When you complete this challenge, upload it to the member gallery and leave a link to your project in the comments below. See ALL of the crop challenges here.

I made ths one first. I lifted Lisa's layout using a different stamp set and branding strips and bits and pieces from several kits.

I made this to take along and record my journaling, so I don't have any photos yet. I used the dotted line stamp to line things up.

    LOVE this layout!
    Here is my interpretation: https://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/202605-currently-after-work-activities

I kept the grid paper but added a contrasting layer of textured cardstock. I borrowed the stacked square photo idea and printed out my photos at a size of 1.2" to cover all of my after-work activities that day. I liked how the ledger stamp broke up the lines in the inspiration layout, so I kept with that idea and made my photos slightly offset from each other. Added some stitching to keep with the "line it up" theme.

I salvaged some photos from an old layout I never finished. The column layout idea was a perfect prompt for a redo. https://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/202619-fi

I love the vertical line-up, but my photos worked better horizontally...will have to try vertical soon!

I lined up 9 little enamel shapes from the old Camelot kit. I hope they stay stuck. It was hard getting them in the pocket intact: https://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/202737-epcot-flower-garden-p-3
