10 Years of Heart
It's hard to believe, but it's been nearly 10 years since we debuted the very first Studio Calico kit. Over the next ten days, we'll be counting down to our 120th (!!!) kit with a series of words to celebrate ten years of Studio Calico.
Let's kick things off with a note from April Foster :
For the past ten years, you – our community – has been at the heart of everything we do. When I started with Studio Calico, it was important to me to be able to offer not only on trend kits, but to be able to support them with inspiration and a creative community. From the launch of our very first kit, we watched likeminded crafters begin connecting and sharing, making that vision come true. As our company has grown and changed, what I hold most dear is that we’ve been able to be a part of so many people’s lives and the memories they have documented. As we kick off our 10th anniversary celebration, I’m looking forward to seeing you share your stories, projects and memories from your time as part of our community. Thank you for being such an important part of Studio Calico.
So, today, we celebrate ten years of HEART. Thank you all, for being the heart of Studio Calico. Whether you've been here for all ten years, or just a month, we are all united by a passion for creativity. We're a community of memory keepers, of cardmakers, of planners and documenters. And each and every one of you has helped shaped Studio Calico into what it is.
We'd love to hear your stories of what the Studio Calico community has meant to you. Whether someone helped you get through a creative block, or you've found a kindred spirit on the message boards, or a comment on a project brightened up a not so great day, the SC community has had a way of bringing a little sunshine to those who are a part of it. Studio Calico has challenged me to think outside the box and stretch my creativity. I have enjoyed taking classes and love to see what the create team does with the kits.

I started subbing back in 2010 with the Back40 kit which is still one of my all time favorites. I did have to stop my sub for a while because things got too busy and kits started to pile up but this has always been my favorite scrapbooking site to visit. There is never a shortage of inspiration at Studio Calico! I started subbing again full time with the stamp kit and lately I've been buying the scrapbooking kit more often than not. I love this place! Happy Anniversary!

5 years ago I randomly came across Marcy Penner on etsy, which led me to Project Life, which led me to Studio Calico. I have been a member ever since. It has changed my life in that I have a creative outlet that is flexible and always changing and a diverse enthusiastic community to share it with. Thank you Studio Calico for facilitating this community and supplying us with beautiful, innovative supplies and inspiration year in and year out. Here is to the next 10 years!!

I would not be a scrapbooker today if not for Studio Calico. I came across Jen Jockisch on 2Peas and follwed her over here. I stalked the boards for a couple of months and then became a subber with Paper Moon. Jen, Laura Kurz, Tina Aszmus, Sasha Farina and Vee Jennings quickly became favorites of mine and I've been so sad to see them all go. When I started posting projects Ginny Hughes was the first person to start commenting and she made me feel so welcome. Back then when posting a project in the gallery the next time you came back on your project could have a hundred likes and twenty comments. I miss those days! Everything would sell out in minutes, even seconds sometimes. The gallery would be shockful of layouts and it would take me almost an hour to browse through all the projects. I miss having four scrapbook addons to chose from! When the Project Life kit (what the documenter kit was called from the start) arrived there was a waiting lists several months long. I finally jumped on that bandwagon and have been doing PL ever since. I'm still super happy to be here, and I hope SC will still be here decades from now!

Four years ago I was just a beginning scrapbooker, who wasn't satisfied with her style and layouts. I lost my mojo to create something. And then one girl showed me your gallery. It was absolutely something new to me and especially I felt in love with the idea of monthly subscription! I found my scrapbook and crafting way those days. Thank you for bringing your inspiration. I am not a subscriber last months, but still come back time to time to find some ideas from your creative team. Without finding SC four years ago I maybe already stopped to craft... Wish you another 10 and 20 and 30 years)))

I joined SC in 2012 and started subscribing with the Cuppa PL kit in November 2013. My all time favourite kit is Copper Mountain and that was the kit that got me to sub to the SB as well. I love the inspiration the CT, classes and gallery provides and the innovative products designed by SC. I especially love the stamps! I have way too many but always want more...

I joined the Studio Calico community in 2010. I continue to love it so much - the kits, the inspiration, and the community, have all brought me lots of happiness!
