June's featured teachers

Documenter Kit Workshop - Donya Gjerdingen

Donya is a photographer, photo editor, and mom of two boys from Houston, Texas. She began scrapbooking by cutting out bits of magazines and creating collages in high school. Her love of creating with her hands and documenting every detail with photos quickly led her to formal scrapbooking as an adult. Aside from memory keeping, she also loves traveling, thunderstorms, and decorating her home.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

The colors in this month’s Documenter Kit are just gorgeous. I love the emerald greens, turquoises, and bits of pink, and they worked so perfectly with my photos. My favorite embellishments this month are the gold foiled asterisks and One Little Bird papers. This kit provided so many great opportunities for journaling which always encourages me to write more stories down.

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, I’ll share how I use colors to drive my design choices. During the second lesson, we’ll look at how to make a 4" x 6" card work for you with stamping. And finally, in the third lesson, we’ll think outside the box using alpha stickers.

Takeaways:

Playing with color and spreading it around the page can create amazing results. I'm looking forward to sharing some of my favorite tips & tricks!

Planner Kit Workshop - Haley Pettit

Haley is a writer, blogger, and planner girl with a heart for helping others create a beautiful, organized life. When she’s not drafting a novel, formatting a blog post, or jammin’ on her planner, you can find Haley reading, spending time with her family in the PNW, or—most likely—cleaning off her desk for the next project.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

As a fan of bright colors and patterns, June’s "Been and Gone" Planner Kit is a dream come true! I’m obsessed with the vibrant, watermelon-colored alphabet stickers, the bold A5 patterned papers, and the neon orange highlighter.

What she'll be teaching:

Throughout the lessons, you’ll see how I use the Planner Kit in three different planners for three different types of planner spreads. From a Traveler's Notebook vision board to a weekly spread in my personal planner, this kit inspired me to combine function and decor in a new and exciting way.

Takeaways:

In the workshop, I’ll be sharing how to get more mileage out of your kit, how to use geometric stamps to create a unique, one-of-a-kind pattern, and how to use your planner to set goals and dream on paper. I hope that you’ll learn a new technique or two, look at your supplies in a new light, and gain some inspiration for your own planner!

Scrapbook Kit Workshop - Jen Schow

Jen is a thirty-something mom of one who started scrapbooking when she was 12 and hasn’t looked back! She loves pretty papers, puffy stickers, and telling stories that matter.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

I absolutely love the copper accents in the "Been and Gone" Kit. The chipboard stickers, the foiled die-cuts, and the specialty paper are absolutely divine, and I love having something other than gold or silver!

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, we'll talk about how to let the kit products inspire your stories. In the second lesson, we’ll focus on how to use all of your favorite patterns on one layout without letting it overwhelm your layout. Finally, we’ll talk about adding personalized touches to simple patterned papers to customize your projects.

Takeaways:

I hope you’ll see that layouts have many jumping off points and they are all okay! Whether you start with an embellishment, some eye-catching patterned papers, or a favorite photo, you can create beautiful layouts that tell stories that matter to YOU.
