Using the Been & Gone Kits with Nancy Damiano

Tags:

It’s time to celebrate Fourth of July! Let’s gather some of the red, white, and blue from the Been and Gone Kit to create a layout about the most patriotic (and fun) season of the year. This time I reached for a centered design keeping the focus on one of my favorite Fourth of July photos.

This idea started with the fireworks stamps in the July Been and Gone stamp set. I love that burst of design goodness! Way at the top, I centered a bold, red star and followed it with a bold July title from the same stamp set. Next, I added a border of fireworks in red, gray, and blue with enamel dots in the center for a little bit of texture. The July Been and Gone stamp set also has simple sentiments like the “backyard barbecue” used here under the fireworks.

A flag sticker tucked just under the photo draws attention to the subject—the little people! A few simple layers of patterned paper and a border of red cardstock finish off this simple design. Using stamps to create a border is a great way to create patriotic pages with a twist of red, white, and blue!
