10th Anniversary Challenge | Scrap Something Funny

Tags:

For even more 10th Anniversary fun, we've rounded up ten of our favorite past blog challenges. We've asked our current Creative Team to share their take on these fun challenges, and we hope you'll play along too!

In this weekly challenge from 2011, we asked you to scrapbook something that makes you laugh or puts a smile on your face. April Foster shared some inspiring tips to add some humor to your projects!

And here's Creative Team member Jen Chapin's take on this past challenge:

Hi, everyone! I am so excited to be here on the blog celebrating the 10th anniversary of Studio Calico. I got to create a page based off one of April's challenge layouts from 2011. What a blast from the past! I decided to take the challenge quite literally and scraplift the layout as well.

I dug through some of my past kits and found the Savannah Scrapbook and Documenter Kits which were a few of my faves! I thought it would be perfect to scrapbook this photo of my daughter at her first dance recital. I started out by printing a photo at 4" tall, then adhered it along with the gold heart patterned paper to the top of a sheet of white cardstock.

I added some machine stitching to the bottom of that layer, then built the title using acetate letters from the kit. Next, I used embellishments to create rows down the bottom half of the page, using my sewing machine to stitch through them. I then added some enamel dots.

After adding a few strips of journaling and a date, my layout was complete! I hope you'll also take this challenge and scrapbook something that makes you smile. You might even choose to scraplift this design as well!

Thanks for coming by the blog, and happy 10th, SC!

Let's see what makes you laugh for a chance to win a $10 GC to the Studio Calico shop! When you complete this challenge, upload it to the member gallery and leave a link to your project in the comments below. See all of our 10th Anniversary challenges here.
