Guest Feature | Caroline Ikeji

We are thrilled to have ten past Studio Calico designers joining us this month in the Creative Team gallery! Each day for the next ten days, we'll be sharing a little more about each of these amazingly creative ladies—we hope you enjoy catching up with them as much as we have!

I am 30-something (am I really that old now? I was so young in my SC days) living in San Francisco. My day job is an account manager, but I am also a wannabe blogger and photographer. I am a traveler, foodie, and runner - even though I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love coffee, red wine, the color yellow, polka dots, and red lipstick.

I was one of Studio Calico's original designers back in the day. I still remember when April called me to tell me about her new idea for a kit club and thinking it was really unique and cool. It has been so amazing to see the company grow to what it is since then, and I can't believe it's been 10 years already! I still have fond memories about being on the team, and hanging out on the boards and during reveal time (anyone remember bringing a date to reveal chat?). I also remember having an amazing time hanging with the team at CHA time. Just good times all around.

I really loved the bright colors and patterns in this kit - and I loved that there were some vintage patterns in this! I am all about the layering and the clustering bits and pieces, so that's what I did on my project. I layered a bunch of different bits of paper and embellishments around my photo to give it a bit of pop, which is from my friend's bachelorette weekend and I wanted to convey a fun vibe!
