July's featured teachers

Documenter Kit Workshop - Nicole Reaves

Nicole has been a paper crafter for as long as she can remember. She has enjoyed everything from creating traditional scrapbook layouts to letterpress to hand lettering. These days, mini books and pocket pages are her go-to methods for documenting the lives of her and her family. Nicole lives in Michigan with her husband, Mark, and their kids, Morgan and Parker.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

One of my favorite pieces from the "Silver Lake Lodge" Documenter Kit are the gold foil cards. The woodgrain one is amazing and I plan to cut it in half so I can use it more than once! As a stamp lover, I really like the stamp set, too. We love to explorenear and farso I get a lot of use out of sets that have a slight travel theme.

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, we will create a simple spread that stretches the product in the kit. In the second lesson, we will focus on layering and unique embellishment ideas. And in the final lesson, we will pair stamps with coordinating product in the main kit to round out a layout.

Takeaways:

I want subscribers to think outside the box a bit. These kits provide so many creative opportunities! Even with a "less is more" approach, you can still find new ways to use those supplies and create simple but memorable layouts.

Planner Kit Workshop - Leah O'Neil

Leah O’Neil, also known as @sunny.leah on Instagram, is a creative planner, scrapbooker, and mixed media artist. Her planner is a place where she lets all her creative hobbies come to life, using it to organize, make lots of lists, document the past and present, and plan creatively for the future. Sometimes she even gets out her art supplies and lays paint or other mediums on the pages when she's feeling artsy! She loves that with each week, she can turn to fresh new pages in her planner that can be transformed into anything she wants or needs that week.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

My favorite part of this kit is the page with all the words and phrases on it because I was able to create 100+ die-cuts when I cut it up into pieces. The sentiments make me feel ready for summer adventures and all the colors provide so much versatility for how I can use the die-cuts. I also REALLY love the enamel hearts and stars sticker sheetthose stickers add such fun texture to a layout! The roller stamp is also so cool and versatile. There are some basic words on it for everyday planning, but there are also words that will be great for recording some memories and even a little journaling in your planners.

What she'll be teaching:

In the workshop, I will be teaching you how to create a personalized monthly dashboard, how to create a fun mixed media monthly layout, and how to get creative with your weekly planner spread.

Takeaways:

I hope subscribers will get a few ideas for incorporating memory-keeping into their planners, how to customize and personalize items from the kit, and how to get artsy in their planners and get over the fear of messing up.

Scrapbook Kit Workshop - Gail Lindner

Gail is from sunny Brisbane, Australia where she lives with her three children (ages three, six, and nine) and ever patient husband! She has been scrapbooking for 18 years and still loves it just as much as she did when she first started as it encompasses everything she loves—memories, photos and, pretty things! Gail is always inspired by her photos and stories.

Favorite things about the month's kit:

The colors in this kit! They are so bold and I think they are really versatile, too! The patterned papers especially are such a fun mix of designsperfect for combining and layering. Another favorite in the "Silver Lake Lodge" Scrapbook Kit were the chipboard embellishments. They are perfect for adding a bit of dimension and interest, and the gold foil details made them even better!

What she'll be teaching:

In the first lesson, we will dig in and create a layout using lots of the patterned papers to build layers behind our photos. In the second lesson, we will use the exclusive cut file to create a full page title with a special photo incorporated right into it. Finally, in the third lesson, we will create a layout using leftover strips of patterned paper and some stamping.

Takeaways:

I want to share my passion for documenting stories in my scrapbooking, so I’m hoping subscribers will be inspired to think outside the box when it comes to choosing the stories that go with their photos. Also, one sheet of patterned paper can go a long way and be used on a few layouts!
