Using The Silver Lake Lodge Documenter Kit with Kelly Noel

Hello, SC friends! I have to tell you that the "Silver Lake Lodge" Kits are some of my favorite kits EVER. I love the rich primary colors and great embellishments. I found that so many of my photos matched the kit this month, which made it extremely easy to work with. I love when kits are so versatile and I can put things together really quickly. I've already made a couple of double page spreads with this month's kit, so for this project, I mixed in a couple of elements from the Scrapbook Kit as well as the Word Boxes stamp set (a new favorite for me!).

Our July has been busy and full so far, but I was able to document these first two weeks of the month in one double-page spread. I've been working with this approach (fitting two weeks into one spread) for almost two years now and I'm still loving it! I was inspired to document July by the "celebrate" card with the fireworks on it. I added the "these memories" image using one of the word boxes from one of this month's stamp add-ons. I love how it added just a little something extra to that card. I had a close-up photo of a lit sparkler from the 4th that I turned black and white and placed behind the "July" script rubber word.

My favorite piece from all of this month's kits was the word strip paper, and I love that it was repeated in each of the kits. I used a piece of the 12" x 12" paper trimmed down to fit onto ¾ of a plain white journal card. I used a sheet of yellow paper from the 4" x 6" paper pad to back a chipboard frame and placed an epoxy star in the center as an accent. I also used the 4" x 6" paper pad to create a custom journal card at the top of the left side of my spread. I simply cut a piece of white cardstock on the diagonal and placed it on top of the yellow paper as a place to add my journaling.

To finish the spread, I added some epoxy accents (asterisks from the Documenter Kit, hearts and stars from the Scrapbook Kit) and stamped the date range onto the "7" card. This page came together really quickly with the help of the "Silver Lake Lodge" Kits. I hope you're inspired to use your kit as soon as it arrives!
