Using the Silver Lake Lodge Documenter Kit with Marie Lottermoser

Tags:

Hi, everyone! Thanks for joining me today as I share my latest documenter spread. Sometimes a new kit prompts me to scrapbook photos I’ve had sitting around for awhile. That’s exactly what happened when the "Silver Lake Lodge" Kit showed up on my doorstep. Once I flipped through the documenter cards and saw the lake theme, I knew I wanted to use the kit with photos from a trip we took last summer.

The overall theme was perfect for my photos, but so were the colors. I chose two of the main colors in the kit (a navy blue and bright green) and pulled cards with those colors first. Then I arranged the cards and photos throughout my page so they would balance each other out. For instance, the green color in the cards was similar to the green grass in my photos, so I placed them so they were not directly next to each other.

I finished my page by using the stamp subscription set to make a couple of tags that worked well with my theme. Since we were at a lake by the mountains, I used the symbols in the stamp set to echo the look. I hope this inspires you to look at your kit for inspiration the next time you are in a scrapbooking rut.
