Using the Silver Lake Lodge Scrapbook Kit with Anna-Maria Wolniak

Hey, everyone! Let's create a summery layout with a bold title! Gili Islands is one of the most dreamy places on earth. I've never been there, but my friend has and she gave me this magical photo. It was a great inspiration for me.

I used this month's inspirational color palette: "Deja Blue," "Well Red," "Lime Green," and "Lemon Zest." I created the big, bold title, "Gili," the name of the islands in Indonesia. I used an old, huge alpha as a stencil for my letters, making the outlines using a white gel pen.

Then I covered the inside part of the letters with opaque, white acrylic paint. Since I used a gray cardstock from the main Scrapbook Kit as a base, and I wasn't sure that the color of the alpha would be bright enough without the white base. When acrylic paints are dry, they don't mix with each other, so you can cover the layers without any stress about diluting the color.

When the white paint was dry, I started to paint the letters using Color Theory acrylic paint in the shades from the monthly palette. I used different brushes for each color.

Easy, isn't it? You can make something similar on your project. If you don't feel comfortable with paints, you can also use a patterned paper or basic cardstocks instead. Just cut out the letters from the paper and stick them to the background of your layout. You can use dimensional foams to do this to create a 3D effect which will enrich your project. Have fun!
