Video | Using the Gypsy Moon Kits with Carson Riutta

Hello and happy October, my Studio Calico friends! I’m thrilled that the cooler weather has arrived here in North Carolina. In my opinion, fall is the best time of year in the south, with cool temps, beautiful sunsets, and changing leaves. It feels like everyone runs out of their air-conditioned homes where they've been hiding all summer and the fun finally begins. I loved seeing all the warm colors and fall-themed items offered this month in the "Gypsy Moon" Kits. And I’m excited to share this insert with you, made using as many of my "Gypsy Moon" supplies as I could manage. 

My insert documents some family photos from July. I found that this kit is so versatile, it can be used well for fall but also for many of the other months. In the video, I’ll show you how I combined all my goodies to create an insert for my album. I use the Design G page protector and lots of goodies from the main Documenter Kit to create this bold page. I hope you enjoy the video!

Tips & Tricks:  

• I love using a striking photo as a title card. It always adds a personal touch to any spread. So don’t be afraid to take those nature and texture shots—they will undoubtedly add so much to your albums! 
• Make quick decisions! Get those pictures in place as fast as you can, add that sticker straight to your photo, and stamp carefully but with confidence. If a choice feels good in the moment, it can’t be wrong. Go with your gut and cut your crafting time in half. 
• Mix up your page protectors to keep your craft time interesting. When we stick with the standard design A page protectors, we can get a little lazy creatively. We know how many photos we need and which orientation they should be, but switching things up can turn the process into a problem-solving exercise which can push us in new creative directions.
