Using the Homestead Documenter Kit with Kelly Noel

Tags:

Hello, SC friends! I can hardly believe it's November already! How did that happen so fast?! While most of you are enjoying crisp temperatures, crunching leaves, and pumpkin spice lattes, here in Florida, we're hanging onto flip-flops and beach days! Even though it doesn't feel like fall here yet, I'm in love with all of the fall elements in this month's "Homestead" Kits! There are so many great fall bits that you could document all of your great fall memories with. Today, though, I wanted to show you the versatility of this month's Documenter Kit and document some photos that were not fall related at all.

I still have some holes to fill in my 2017 album, so I pulled these photos out from March to use. I went through the journaling cards first and pulled out the ones that had a non-fall feel to them. I was actually surprised by how many I was able to find. I found some pink, purple, yellow, and blue which created a gorgeous color scheme for my spread and matches my spring photos pretty well. I was able to use a few of the die-cut pieces from the die-cut pack in the kit, including the house and tree, sweet little bow, and the labels. All of these were non-season specific and made perfect accents for my spread.

Since this was six months ago, I pulled out my phone and used my social media posts to jog my memory about what was happening in some of these photos. For the soccer photo of Sawyer, I took my post directly from Facebook and typed it onto the journaling card next to the photo. I love that it captures exactly what I was feeling that day!

I hope you're inspired to use your Documenter Kit down to the last bit, even if you don't feel like the "theme" or "feel" of the kit matches the photos you have. Get creative and make it work for you!
