Hello and happy December to all my scrappy soul mates! Because it’s December and we’re all overwhelmed with holiday prep, I wanted to walk you through a small and quick insert I made for my documenter album using the "Northern Lights" Documenter Kit and the December stamp add-ons. It can be hard this time of year to stay committed to our memory keeping, but I’m hoping to inspire you to go small and simple with your next project.

The goal is to get our photos into our albums and we don’t need to spend hours to accomplish that every time we sit down to create. Grab a small insert and a few cherished photos, and with some stamping and minimal embellishments, you can have a finished layout in under 20 minutes. Enjoy the video!

Tips & Tricks:

Stamping is a great way to quickly embellish a layout. Choose one color ink to keep the stamping quick and uniform. Do make sure you test stamp on a piece of scrap paper before stamping on your precious card or photo. Never be afraid to cut your stamps apart to make them work for you. You can always put them right back together again on your stamping block.
Quote cards are a fantastic way to quickly add a title and journaling to a smaller project. A few photos and a quote card are sometimes all you need to get your point across.
On a small layout, too many of the same type of embellishment can quickly overwhelm the space. Three chipboard pieces will weigh down the design; two flairs can take away from the photos. Vary your embellishment types for a more organic and pleasing layout.
