Using the Summit Scrapbook Kit with Maggie Massey

Tags:

Hey, all. Happy, happy, happy 2018! Maggie here with a closer look at one of the layouts from my "Summit" gallery!

I created this page using only the main Scrapbook Kit...and I kinda love it. My friends and I have been doing a lot of forest preserve walking this fall and winter and the adventure/outdoors/explore theme was just perfect for documenting us and our favorite trail!

I started by trimming down a piece of the patterned paper from the kit. My current favorite page size is 9" x 12", and for this page, I decided to keep the info-strip on the bottom of the paper. I love the color it adds to my layout.

Next, I grabbed some of my favorite tags from the kit, printed out a 3" x 4" photo of our walking path, and arranged them into a pattern I was happy with. I'm really partial to grids on my scrapbook pages, so it's no surprise that's the design I gravitated toward.

I thought the page was missing something at this point, and I decided I really needed another photo. I didn't want to mess with my page design, though, so another 3" x 4" (or larger) photo really wouldn't work. BUT, if I printed my photo smaller, I could make it fit in with my current layout...yay! I sized a photo of the three of us to fit right over one of my tags and I think it really helps to make my whole page!

Not only does it add to my story, but the black and white in the photo also really helps balance the black and white from the middle photo and the buffalo check pattern on one of my other tags.

The bright pops of color against all of that white and black just make me so happy, and I think they really add to the crisp, wintery feel of the page.

Thank you so much for taking a look! I wish you all tons of love, happiness, and wonderful memory-making in 2018!
