Sunday Sketch | Maggie Massey

This week our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 12" layout featuring a layered patterned paper background with scattered embellishments around a verticle photo. Our notebook sketch has a verticle photo over patterned paper with journaling above and below it on the left page and a stacked title on the right. And our pocket page sketch features a 4" x 6" card with a list and heavy journaling and a 4" x 6" photo with embellishment. Creative Team member Maggie Massey is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's notebook sketch! Be sure to follow Maggie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Our scrapbook sketch comes from Lisa Truesdell's XO layout:

Our notebook sketch comes from Marcy Penner's Today spread:

And our pocket page sketch comes from Carson Riutta's Hey New Year spread:

And here's Maggie's take on our notebook sketch:

Marcy's project really caught my eye, and I thought the left side of the spread would make the perfect scrapbook page!

I started by picking out some of my favorite patterned paper from the main Scrapbook Kit. Then, I cut my background paper to 9" x 12" and added a large border to the top. Next, I printed out a recent photo of my son using my Instax printer and adhered that to my page.

Then it was just a matter of choosing my favorite phrase strips and stamps from the "Pen Name" Add-On Kit and adding them on! Easy peasy!

Thanks so much for taking a look! I can't wait to see what you create from this week's sketches!

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by April 2nd in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the April 7th Layout of the Week post.

I used the SB sketch and turned it on its side for the inspiration for my layout. I had two photos that when put together gave the whole picture of the fountain, so used the two to create my vertical photo.

I was inspired by the diagonal movement in the SB sketch to make this card:
