TN Ideas | Be Happy

Memory keeping in Traveler's Notebooks is a great way to document the details of your everyday. The following TN ideas are perfect for pairing with this month's "Be Happy" Kits or just tuck them into your back pocket for a time when your creative mojo is low. Either way, we hope they’ll help inspire your next project!

Use a full-page photo.

April Foster made a big impact on her layout, Peace, Love & Sandy Feet, with a full-page photo on the left side of her TN. To tie the two pages together, she took color cues from her photo and chose coordinating ink colors for her stamping.

On her spread, California Snow DayBarbara Picinich featured a full-page photo opposite a patterned paper pocket with hidden journaling. But this didn't keep her from adding embellishments and visual journaling! She created a dynamic layout by including these elements right on top of her photo.

Cluster similar embellishments.

Marcy Penner featured the fabric tags from the On My Way collection in a fun way on her spread, Read // On My Way. The stitching to adhere them to her page adds another layer of texture and interest!

On her spread, Shell CollectorApril Foster created a stunning rainbow of cascading hearts on the right side of her spread. This dynamic technique is made even more fun with the tip of one heart peeking out above the top of her layout!

Make a pocket.

Marie Lottermoser created a pocket with patterned paper on her spread, Beach Day, to house extra photos and ephemera from her day. With limited space on a TN spread, this technique is the perfect solution to getting more of your memories recorded!

On her layout, Toes in the SandApril Foster used a colorful striped patterned paper from the On My Way collection to create a pocket for memorabilia. This simple design makes a stunning impact!

Include interactive journaling.

Barbara Picinich used phrases and icons from the Theme Park stamp set to fill in the journaling on her spread, A Day at the Park. This fun technique is a great way to tie in colors from your photos and gives the reader a fun experience!

Marie Lottermoser added colorful pops of interest to her journaling with epoxy stickers on her layout, Chilling in Florida. By pairing her words with similar icons, she created another fun layer to her storytelling.

Find a template that works.
