We're thrilled to have the lovely and talented Jessica Upton as one of our guest designers this month and are excited to get to know her better today! Be sure to follow Jessica here at Studio Calico to keep up with her and see more of her beautiful work.
Hi, everyone! I'm Jessica Upton, and I live just outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado with my husband and kiddos. I have three kids: McKenna, 16, Riley, 15 and Kiefer, 8. They provide me with never-ending stories to tell in my scrapbooks. We just moved out into the country last fall and are getting a couple of horses very soon—a life-long dream of mine come true! I work at home cutting stuff on our laser for my little store, Color Cast Designs. I have been scrapbooking since my first daughter was born and have gone through so many different formats. My very favorite ways to document our stories right now are through weekly pocket page spreads and Traveler’s Notebooks. I can’t wait to share my projects with you!
Week 18 of 2017 – First, I used the Documenter Kit to create a page for a missing week in my 2017 album (I have just a few of these 😉). I love the cards in the kit so much, but my favorite was the card with the little doodles on it. I also love the heart in the stamp set and used it to stamp and then punch out the heart. I then used the enamel dots under the punched out heart for a fun look. I love how it turned out. I took the “I’m Always Hungry” card and punched it into a circle and added it to the pretty yellow card.
Week 19 of 2017 – For my second project, I did another missing week from my 2017 album. I used the fun teal washi on one of the 4" x 6" cards and punched the camera from one of the 3" x 4" cards. I added some enamel dots to the washi. I absolutely love the monthly cork pieces and used the “May” one on this spread. And the puffy stickers…swoon! Added bits of those throughout my entire spread.
Thank you so much for looking at my spreads and thank you to Studio Calico for inviting me to be a guest this month. I thoroughly enjoyed it! If you want to follow my storytelling online, you can find me in the gallery here at Studio Calico and also on Instagram.
