Sunday Sketch | Candace Perkins

This week our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 11" layout featuring a wide strip of patterned paper on the top half of the page, a horizontal photo in the center, and a title with embellishment in the lower half. Our notebook sketch has a large verticle photo adhered with washi tape over a title on the left page and two smaller horizontal photos surrounded by embellishment and journaling on the right page. And our pocket page sketch features a 3" x 4" photo and a 3" x 4" card with a half-circle embellishment at the top and journaling at the bottom. I was so excited to work with the sketches again this month! I adore the sketches and I love how they inspire me to create fun spreads, perhaps in a way I may have never considered. This month I chose to create a new spread inspired by the beautiful scrapbook layout by Maggie Massey entitled “Silly.”

What I noticed right away in the spread was the bold title, the three embellishments across the center, and the two blocks of paper as the base. I copied these elements onto my spread to bring my layout together in a snap! Using paper and embellishments from the On My Way collection, I added a photo of my four cute boys.

I loved that Maggie just added a tiny bit of journaling and the ages of the kids in the photo. Sometimes we don’t need a lot of words—just the facts and a memorable photo. So in love with the final layout!
