Video | Using the Hey Girl Documenter Kit with Candace Perkins

Tags:

Hi, friends! I'm so excited to be sharing a fun Documenter spread using the May "Hey Girl" Kit. I love working with kits that coordinate so perfectly and the colors in the May kit are perfection!

Below you'll find a video that walks you through how this spread came together along with a few tips and tricks to help you complete your next spread in a snap.

Tips & Tricks:

  • When working with black and white photos, use bright and bold colors and patterns to balance the spread.
  • Match like-colored embellishments and cards to not only help the spread come together in a snap but also to bring a little fun and interest to it.
  • If you're adding an embellishment to a photo and it's a similar color, use dimensional adhesive to make sure that it stands out and doesn't get “lost” on the page.
  • Try using a typewriter to add your journaling. It looks fun and allows you to fit more words into a small space.
  • Look for new angles and interesting ways to use your stamps. Try stamping on cards and photos on an angle. This adds interest to an otherwise flat spread.

Thanks for coming by today! I hope this inspired you and gave you a few new ideas on how to complete your Documenter spreads. I can’t wait to see what you create this month with the "Hey Girl" kit! Have fun!
