Welcome France Wisniewski to the Creative Team

We are excited to feature our new members of the Studio Calico Creative Team. We're looking forward to seeing their inspiring projects in the gallery and blog, and hope you are, too! Today, we're getting to know France Wisniewski! Be sure to follow her here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

My name is France but I’m also the gal behind Bananafishstudio. I spend my days managing brands and creating visual content on behalf of clients big and small. I live just north of Seattle with my husband and my beloved pup Ronin. He features heavily in my notebooks...my husband, not so much. :) Although I technically started scrapbooking after being introduced to the hobby by a lady in my art journaling group, I credit my mother and grandfather for giving me a love of stories. Storytelling in my culture is considered a valuable and worthy pursuit. It’s how we learn, how we grow, how we express gratitude, and how we connect—to others and to ourselves. When I’m not working, knitting, scrapbooking, or walking one of the many trails that surround my home, I love lazy afternoons spent outside with my guy and my pup, date nights, pedicures, rereading the same books, and laughing at almost anything my husband says.

Studio Calico was my very first kit subscription, and since then, I’ve had boxes delivered to Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and multiple Seattle neighborhoods. I still get crazy happy when that box shows up.

While I’ve never found a “one size fits all” approach to my personal memory keeping, I definitely have a fondness for notebooks. I love the tactile, bookish quality of a creative journal paired with something a bit more clean and modern. All of my projects these days are a bit smaller in stature...but not in substance. :)

Right now I'm obsessed with pops of pink, my typewriter, knitting socks, strawberries, and frozen margaritas.

One of my favorite layouts happens to be a holiday notebook spread from Christmas 2016. Everything I love is right here. The modern typeface on the left, the whimsical word art on the right; the digital December Daily® elements by Ali Edwards; the subjects, my husband and pup, by the fire; winter evenings by candlelight; and my journaling hidden in a vellum pocket. It’s all very me.
