Design Tips | Holland Park

Starting with a blank page can be an intimidating way to begin a project. The following design tips are perfect for pairing with this month's "Holland Park" Kit, or just tuck them into your back pocket for a time when your creative mojo is low. Either way, we hope they’ll help inspire your next project!

Put your title on the edge.

A vertical title is a sure way to make a big impact with your design. On her project, FriendsKelly stamped her title in two different colors along the edge of her notebook page for some added interest to her spread!

Lisa went with a bold navy color for the vertical title on her spread, Splash. Lining it up along the edge of her page gave her plenty of room for journaling and embellishments, even with the large, blocky letters of the Tucker Alpha!

We love how Haley flipped her vertical title in towards the center of her page on her project, Currently. It created a perfect journaling prompt to help her record what her life looks like right now!

Create some magic on your page.

Pam captured the magic of her memory with navy vellum stars and star-punched negative space on her spread, Starlight. The result is stunning!

On her spread, Pure MagicSarah's scattering of stamped dots and stars creates a magical feel on her page! It's the perfect match for her sweet photo.

"Hang" a banner.

Kelly's pink stamped banner at the top of her spread, Reading List, is the perfect border for her page! This little detail adds interest and ties in the colors from the patterned page on the opposite side of her spread.

On her spread, So GoodSarah hung a sweet stamped banner above her large title on the left page. It's the perfect eye-catching detail for her project!

Stamp a custom pattern.

Sarah used one of the label shapes from the Holland Park stamp subscription set to create a custom pattern on her notebook spread, Having a Great Time. We love how she filled in two of the labels with a stamped phrase and some journaling!

On her project, Thankful For YouHaley added fun pops of color in the form of a custom stamped background. This technique adds the perfect about of color, interest, and personality to her page!
