Sunday Sketch | Carissa
This week, our layout sketch is an 8.5x11 layout with a 4x6 photo and triangle accents. Our card sketch features a repeated sentiment and our Project Life sketch uses circles with room for a caption and photo. Creative Team member, Carissa Wiley, is joining us this week & sharing her take on our card sketch. Be sure to follow Carissa here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 8.5x11 layout sketch comes from Anna Maria Wolniak's Life Goes On layout:
Our card sketch comes from Agnieszka Malyszek's Hooray card:
And our Project Life sketch comes from Shanna Noel's Poet Society spread:
And here's Carissa's take on our layout sketch:
I was so inspired by all of the sketches this week, and it was hard to choose just one. But in the end, I settled on Ania-Maria’s layout sketch. I thought it would be fun to take a layout sketch and adapt it to a card. I love the large triangle shape at the top of the layout, but thought it would be a little heavy for a card. By using small pennant shapes instead, I was able to use a variety of patterned papers and keep lots of white space.
This card could easily be adapted to be very masculine in feel…simply change the pops of pink to a more masculine color and substitute gold for silver. It keeps its party feel but reads a bit more on the manly side. Enamel dots in place of sequins will also push this towards the manly end of the spectrum.

I took the PL Sketch and made a 6X4 card for my week #33 PL spread. I attached a look at the entire page as well although now I realize I took the picture of the whole spread before I completely finished it. OOPSE. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/137794-scsketch
