New Handbooks - Your Questions Answered!
Hello everyone! We've got answers to all your questions about the new handbooks coming to our shop. You're going to love them!
When the Handbook album system was conceptualized, it was designed to fill a need in the marketplace for pocket-style scrapbooking that wasn't intimidating to complete. We designed a 6x8" album with a thick spine to hold lots of pages and memories, along with divided page protectors to house journaling cards in traditional 4x3, 4x6 and square sizes. As we received feedback from you, we realized there was a need for an additional size for larger projects. In addition, we wanted to improve the quality of the 6x8" albums and make them more versatile for those who love planners.
Beginning early 2015, we'll not only offer revamped 6x8" handbooks, but we're excited to bring new 9x12" albums to our shop! Why are we so ecstatic about these new handbooks? Well, because they're new, first of all, but more importantly - they've been expertly designed with your feedback in mind.
We compiled the features of both albums below for easy comparison (and of course so you can plan ahead for which system you'd like to use in the New Year!).
- High-Quality Page Protectors | The new page protectors have a narrow strip for the ring-holes and are unbranded so your photos stand out, instead of a company logo. Plus, they are crystal clear so your photos can more easily be seen.
- New Page Protector Designs | The pockets are tighter so journal cards stay put. They've been re-made in the original configurations and then some! Plus, we plan to release even more options later in the year.
- Interchangeable Page Protectors | The hole-spacing of the 6x8" page protectors allow for use within the 9x12" albums. Say you have a birthday party invitation you'd like to house right next to a 9x12" spread....easy peasy!
- Thick Spine | The 6x8" Handbooks have the original thick spine to hold lots of pages and memories. The 9x12" spine is the same, and both albums are high in capacity and style.
- 6-ring Closure | The 6x8" Handbooks feature a versatile 6 ring system that is compatible with the Filofax agenda system, Kikki. K planners, Week In The Life™ 2014, and more! Ooh la la!
- Shelf-Happy | Both albums fit perfectly on a bookshelf without hanging over the edge and the size makes it convenient for a child to hold on their lap to look through.

Additional Questions
Will the page protectors for the new 6x8" handbooks fit the 2014 December Daily® album?
Actually, no, since this year's December Daily® albums use a 4 ring system versus 6 rings. The existing 6x8" page protectors in our shop will work though!
Will A Beautiful Mess and Studio Calico have separate albums for sale?
- Yes. The albums are unique to each individual shop. More information about A Beautiful Mess albums will be released in early 2015. The page protectors will work across the board though!
We hope you're as thrilled as we are to get these new albums into your hands in the coming months. Oh, and don't think we forgot about your Handbook color votes on Instagram. We'll reveal the top customer-voted color options soon! If you have any questions, leave them for us in the comments!

I recently purchased one of the new 6 ring handbooks and would like to know why the page protectors for this are not even available to purchase yet? I know it came with several but that's not enough - I'd like to purchase more. Help! ;)

I am excited too. After much thought, I am doing a mini-PL using the 6x8. I am hoping the smaller size will help me get it done and still keep my paper loving self happy.

Are the current handbooks for sale slimmer than the new/old handbooks? How come the description says 1.5" on the ones currently for sale?
