Sunday Sketch | Carson Riutta
This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 12" layout with a patterned paper border. Our card sketch features layered embellishing and a stamped sentiment, and our pocket page sketch uses two 3" x 4" journaling cards with added type and embellishments. Creative Team member Carson Riutta is joining us this week and sharing her take on this week's scrapbook sketch! Be sure to follow Carson here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our scrapbook sketch comes from Kelly Noel's Yay layout:
Our card sketch comes from Dana Fleckenstein's Hooray Banner Card card:
Our pocket page sketch comes from Melanie Louette's August 2015 Documenter - Young At Heart spread:
And here's Carson's take on our scrapbook sketch:
Happy Sunday, everyone! I’m so happy to be here sharing the Sunday sketch with you today. I love participating in the sketch challenge because I’m always prompted to try something new and outside my comfort zone. I chose to work with the scrapbook sketch this week, as I loved Kelly’s quilted paper frame, and I always need some practice incorporating white space into my layouts. I switched a few of the elements up, starting with the number of pictures. Then, to compensate for more content in the middle of the page, I turned the paper frame into two vertical borders instead. Other than that, I stayed pretty true to the sketch while incorporating all the soft and earthy tones from the Lost River kit. This layout has more white space than any in my recent history, and I really love the finished look, although my husband did ask if it was complete when he saw it. “It’s just so white,” he said, LOL!
I can’t wait to see what you all create this week! Happy crafting!
