This week we're joined by Maggie (sc username mwingstedt) - her gallery is full of fun, layered layouts, and we couldn't wait to see what she'd do with a Studio Calico sketch!
First up, let's give you a peek at this week's sketches. Our layout sketch comes from Nicole Samuels' "Super W" page.
Our card sketch comes from July guest designer Paige Evans' gallery (we couldn't resist those triangles!).
Maggie pulled from the stair-step elements on our layout sketch and adapted it to her own style.

As soon as I saw the layout sketch I thought about how awesome it would look with Project Life cards! So I grabbed my June PL kit (and the main kit!) and set to work. We are not taking any big vacations this summer so all of our adventures will be taking place close to home...I figured the ferris wheel photo that I snapped this past weekend at the local carnival would make for the perfect "adventure" photo. I stuck pretty darn closely to the sketch...I love the upwards movement of the shapes. I covered my photo with the Holga photo overlay (bonus: I didn't have to edit my photo very much to make it look awesome!), stitched around the "the good life" card to add a little texture and outlined my entire layout with my trusty black pen and a ruler (I love doing this when I think my layout just needs a little something extra). Thank you so much to Studio Calico for asking my to participate this week! I had a blast creating this layout!
Out of all the details on Maggie's awesome layout, I find myself totally drawn to the veneer and sticker words in the bottom corner. What perfect ending point to a great page! Thank you for joining us this week, Maggie!
Now it's your turn! Make a project with using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Leave us a link to your project by July 8th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop.
