Sunday Sketch | Tiffany
We asked Tiffany Justice (username coastiewife07) to join us this week to share her take on our sketches. We love that she isn't afraid to jump right in and start putting ideas she learned in SC classes to the test, and were eager to see her take on the sketches. She wowed us by turning in THREE projects!!
First, let's start with our sketches. Our layout sketch is from Ania Maria Wolniak :
And our card sketch is from April Foster:
Now have a look at how they inspired Tiffany :)
Supplies: Halley's Comet, Planetarium PL kit, INKED class printables, Navy Pier, Atlantic Sequins, Atlantic Wood Veneer Circles, pink distress paint
I had this adorable picture of my daughter swinging around in circles from her Daddy's hands. I knew instantly I wanted to use the Atlantic collection for the layout because the colors are just so pretty! So I started by sprinkling the sequins in a line down the left side of the page, splattering some gold paint, and stamping my sentiments around the sequins. I placed my photo on top of that awesome gold foil card and layered a couple printables from the Inked Class on top...I added a couple more embellishments and some sewing and voila! Simple and Sweet :)
Supplies: Marks and Co. PL kit, Inked Class Kit, Happy Little Moments Class kit, Navy Pier, Spencer's PL kit (stamp), Peerless WaterColor Papers, Water Brush, Gesso, Stamps, Mist
For this layout, I knew I wanted to incorporate some techniques I recently learned from the Toolbox class...so I grabbed my gesso and I grabbed my waterbrush and watercolor papers and went to town! ;) I used the chevron stamp (stamped in gesso) from the Inked Class Kit, on several different areas on the page. I am so IN LOVE with the colors in the Marks and Co. PL kit and thought they'd look great with the picture of my little girls toes in the sand. My favorite part of the entire layout is where I got to use the AWESOME Kal Barteski stamps that were included in the Marks and Co. PL kit. I also really liked incorporating another technique from the Toolbox class using watercolors. I watercolored a regular piece of cardstock, punched a few hearts out, and sewed them down around the photo. I like the texture it brings to the page. This layout makes me ready to go back to the beach!
Supplies: Atlantic Collection
I decided to create a card that looks almost exactly like the card sketch...I would say i'm more of a simple scrapper, so this sketch was perfect for me! Again, I had to use the beautiful papers in the Atlantic Collection...the colors all work so well together! I'm sorry I don't know what kit the sentiments came from, I got those in a grab bag (love, love, love grab bags!). I sewed a line underneath the sentiments to help them stand out a bit more against the papers.
Thanks Studio Calico for the wonderful sketches to work with and for all the inspiration you guys bring to the table everyday! I'm so happy to be a part of such a wonderful community of scrapbookers! :)
