Letterpress

Letterpress is an age old art - and one of the current hot trends in paper. Studio Calico is turning your workspace into a print shop with their new letterpress plates and the Lifestyle Crafts L-Letterpress platform. Here's a look at how our Creative Team has been using these tools :

Geralyn Sy | Hi : This is my first attempt at letterpress and I love it :) I decided to do a blind impression with the alpha plate, except for the 'hi' which I inked with silver ink. I handstitched a speech bubble around those two letters for emphasis and I pulled together some washi tape + leftovers from the Antiquary kits to finish the layout!

Lisa Truesdell | magicWhen I don't have a lot of time to devote to letterpressing, I love using blind impressions. I watercolored my letterpress paper, and then put it in the platform with the "magic" plate and pressed it a few times. I finished the spread with some bits from Antiquary - the Printshop stars and word stickers - as well as gold labels from the Double Scoop PL kit.

Jen Jockisch | Hi : I used the check it out letterpress plate with the teal ink, as well as a few bits from this month's kits.

Gillian Nelson | Love :  I love making holiday lines like Magical work overtime by using them on non-holiday themed pages. I also got some number stickers from the Storytime line on there, too. And this is the first time I've used my Letterpress for a project! I'm officially addicted. I just used watercolor paper here, though. I'm still too nervous to break into my good letterpress paper. ;)

Dear SC - it would be really nice if you can re-stock some of your Letterpress plates soon, there are hardly any left on your shop.
