Sunday Sketch I Martha
Tags:This week, Martha (SC username MarthaBonneau) is sharing her take on our sketches! Martha's gallery is full of projects in her fantastic simple, graphic style. We love her contributions to our gallery and couldn't wait to see what she'd do with this inspiration.
First, let's look at this week's sketches - our layout comes from Lisa Truesdell's "Someday" :

And our card sketch comes from Dana Fleckenstein's gorgeous birthday card :

Martha created an adorable layout based on the sketch from Lisa's layout:

I was inspired by this sketch in so many ways! First I positioned 3 pieces of overlapping patterned paper to mimic the layout of the 3 photographs. Using more than 1 photo on a LO is always a challenge for me, this sketch made it easy to position the 2 pictures I wanted to use. I love using clusters of embellishments and this sketch provided lots of opportunity to do that, I used my favorite Printshop wood veneer stars layered with vintage sequins and a few assorted tags. The strips of pp at the top and bottom of the sketch were a fun touch, I layered strips of Printshop patterned paper at the top and bottom of my layout and stitched them into place. Lastly I loved the big title work so I used the same technique with the Printshop Transparent Alphas and then stamped sentiments to the right to mimic the title in the sketch.
Martha did such a fantastic job adapting the sketch to fit her own style and we love the results! Thank you for joining us this week, Martha! If you'd like to see more of Martha's work, follow her here at Studio Calico, check out her blog, or follow her on Instagram.
