Our Layout of the Week, Time Of Our Life, comes from our member Valerie, username valerieb. Valerie is a long time member here at SC and we always love seeing her projects in the gallery. This layout is no exception and is so creative with the columns of color and perfectly added embellishments. To see more of her work and keep up with Valerie, be sure to follow her here at SC.

Here's what Valerie has to say about her layout:

I am taking the Color Studio class and it is just so inspiring that I can't stop creating! After reading the lesson on using rainbow colors, I remembered a Pinterest pin I had pinned a while ago of a quilt with bands across it in a rainbow of colors (here's the link to my pin
http://www.pinterest.com/pin/38139928067513907/ ) and knew exactly the layout I wanted to create! I used my swatch book from Studio Calico to choose the colors that I wanted, and then found papers from my Studio Calico kits that were the same colors for my strips. For additional depth and interest - and to reinforce the colors of each strip of paper - I added embellishments that corresponded in color to each strip. It was fun to dig into my stash and use up some of the embellishments I've been hoarding!! To make my photo really stand out from such a busy layout, I chose to use a black & white one and I diecut a bold black title to frame it.

I just want to say thank you to the Studio Calico community for choosing my layout this week among so so much talent that I see every single day in the gallery!! I am truly honored!
