Sunday Sketch | Jamie Waters

This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 12" grid-based layout using multiple paper scraps and photos. Our card sketch features a multi-layer border and a centered sentiment, and our pocket page sketch uses an embellished 3" x 4" photo and a 3" x 4" journaling card. Creative Team contributor Jamie Waters is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's scrapbook sketch! Be sure to follow Jamie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Our scrapbook sketch comes from Lisa Truesdell's forever young layout:

Our card sketch comes from Keisha Campbell's You Did It! card:

Our pocket page sketch comes from Karen Baker's August 'Young At Heart' Add-on Documenter Kits spread:

And here's Jamie's take on our scrapbook sketch:

I loved Lisa's grid layout from the sketch, and it was hard from me to sway too much from it! I followed her three-photo grid, but made them slightly different sizes and just adjusted my other patterned paper blocks to fit around the photos.

I love all the patterns in this kit, so it was easy for me to use bits and pieces here and there. The "be present" and "everyday" chipboard pieces were placed next to each other in the packaging, and I thought it was so fitting that they should also be placed together on my project.

Supplies: Kit - Lost River Scrapbook Kit; Ink - Color Theory Ink Pad ("Inky Black"); Other - Tiny Attacher

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. I used sort of a combination of Lisa's original and Jamie's take on it - then expanded to 12x12: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/194737-s-mores

I am planning on using this sketch 3 times for 3 different albums I am currently working on. My first take is pretty literal using the Lost River kit. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/194776-sc-sketch-site-4

My third go at this sketch. Grid designs are so easy to work with to use up stash. I used old paper and new stamps. I was a little more loose on the placement of the boxes this time....not quite like the sketch. I used my journaling along the bottom to represent the lond strip at the bottom of the sketch.
