Tutorial: Using the Purl Add-on Kit with Kelly Noel

Tags:

I loved the Crate paper product from the Purl Add-on and I had this photo of one of my besties and I, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to use it.

To start, I created a grid with some of the patterned papers and my photo all trimmed to 4"x4". It was a good base for my layout, but it definitely needed more.

Die cut packs are some of my very favorite embellishments. I find them to be very versatile and they last a long time! Since this die cut pack was pretty and pink, I didn't mind using up lots of the pieces for just one layout. I thought it would be fun to create a little pocket right on my layout. To do this, I simply cut a piece of packaging plastic into a 4x4 square as well and placed it on top of a transparency piece. I put a lot of the flower die cuts in between the plastic and transparency layers and added a handful of sequins from my stash as well.

I held the plastic piece and transparency tightly together and ran it through my sewing machine creating a little die cut and sequin pouch for my layout.

My confetti pocket still needed something else, so I used one of the cork words from the kit and painted it using Martha Stewart's Liquid Gilding Gold. I love the coverage and the gold is really shimmery and fun!

Once the word was dry, I adhered it directly to the top of my pocket.

I added a few more flower die cuts around the page and added some journaling on one of the die cut tags. I love how die cut packs can really go the distance. I still have plenty of die cuts leftover from this pack to use again and again!
