Member Spotlight | Tracy
Hey there! My name is Tracy Armstrong, I'm 26 years old and I live in Vancouver, BC. I'm slightly (okay, majorly) obsessed with my rescue dog, Sophie - who just so happens to also be my best friend. Other things I love include; visiting New York City, drinking massive amounts of coffee, collecting vinyl records, watching movies (like Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail and Serendipity), and basically anything gold. My days are spent behind a desk working for an accounting firm, but I spend all of my free time scrapbooking! I got into this creative hobby in 2012 with an art journal, then in 2013 I completed my first year of Project Life and oh boy, do I love it! In January of 2014 I started a blog called the Single Girl's Scrapbook to help inspire fellow single girls who are also recording their story. I'm so thankful that ten, twenty years down the road I'll have a physical record of all of these wonderful memories.

All time favorite past kit or collection? Oh gosh, even though I've only been here just over a year, there's been so many! My favourite collection (so far) has been Printshop! I loved the bright bold colours and patterns.
What do you do when your kit comes? Usually my kit comes while I'm at work so I make sure I rush home at lunch time and I dive right in! I open everything all up and admire all the pretty things. At the end of the day when I'm back home from work I go through it all again and put everything into their respective containers - I'm big on having my supplies sorted so I know where everything is. I go through the Project Life cards and my most favourite go into a "hoard binder" (yep - I have a binder!). Then the rest get sorted into "journal" cards and "filler" cards.
What's your go to technique? Typewriting on vellum! I started doing it last year and it's my favourite way to add some extra details to a photo without overwhelming it. I have both an electric and a manual typewriter (they have different fonts) and I have many of different types of vellum, I just love the effect it gives!
Share your top 5 products:
- anything gold (seriously, whatever it is - if it's gold, I have to have it! I was thrilled when Studio Calico launched their Essentials line - so many gold embellishments!)
- vellum
- wood veneer
- my Tim Holtz tiny attacher
-SC Handbooks, they're honestly the best (I currently have five) and they hold so many pages!
Where do you go when your mojo is low? Definitely Instagram. I have certain tags that I follow daily to find inspiration - #projectlife #studiocalico #singlegirlsb - and it's a great way to give me a creative boost. Also, the Studio Calico Creative Team is just filled with so much amazing talent!

I love the pictures of your dog ( I take a lot of my little man Diego) and I absolutely LOVE how you cut them into triangles. What a great and unique way to showcase your photos. The idea was brilliant! TY for sharing. This might sound silly but how do you get the typing on your cards?
Thanks
Trish

I love your pages. I've recently acquired a rescue kitten and in a week have managed to take around 200 photos of/with him. I've got no kids (well, now a fur baby) and I've scrapped for ten years - glad to see I'm not alone!
