Farewell to an Industry Pioneer
Tags:2 Peas and owner Kristina Nicolai-White have been instrumental to my life both personally and professionally. Without her influence I may have never become so involved in the scrapbooking industry or started Studio Calico 7 years ago. At the time, I was a traveling professional with no kids and there were few supplies locally that suited my needs as a papercrafter. Enter 2peas, a fascinating online company with a welcoming community providing quality products and galleries upon galleries of inspiration. It was through them I formed early friendships in the industry, learned the difference between pigment and dye inks, and how to set an eyelet.
While I am sad to see a wonderful business exit the industry, I am confident the contribution 2peas made as an early trendsetting company, has set the stage for memory keepers to build on their knowledge and excitement for pretty paper. Documenting our memories is an art, a lifestyle, and most importantly how we capture our lives. I am thankful for Kristina’s eye for design and the countless stickers and papers she curated for us over the years as well as the community she provided that allowed us to share our passion.
What we will all remember is the art, the friendships, and the memories that we captured through 2peas’ products and services.

A lovely tribute! Sorry to hear the news - just sad they took the forums down right away!

I've always enjoyed purchasing new designs and tools from them but I have to say I'm super upset because I just bought Wilna's Art and Art2 classes a couple of days ago and can't access them because they closed the forum and the workshops without any warning. It would have been nice to know the classes would not be there (a couple days after I purchased them) so I would have made the time to just download them right away. So frustrating, that when I finally got a few minutes to myself tonight to start watching the classes only to discover the company is closing, I nearly started to cry. I can't believe their statement and action are so sudden and in the process they took my money for classes I won't be able to see/use. Hurt and frustrated that I begged (my Husband) to be allowed to purchase these classes and now I wasted the money. I'll never hear the end of it. Sure hope there is a way to allow us to download stuff like this quickly and easily so they don't have to start doing bunches of refunds. 'cause DH is going to want that money back for sure. : (

I, too, am very sad. It is always so hard to say goodbye, and April, I am even more impressed with you and Studio Calico for your heartfelt post.

You gave us a nicey nicey post. I really am glad they were around and fulfilled our needs for such a long time. No doubt there were nice people there, but the fact that we can't access our paid for classes shows a lack of integrity and class.

April,
Thanks for posting this. I posted about this as well over on PaperCrafter's Corner.
I think it's important to acknowledge those who have helped shape this industry, and Two Peas certainly did.
Like you I found them when I was just starting out and they were not just a source of information, but inspiration and community...oh, and papercrafting goodies!
I will miss them and the community there, but am confident that others will step in and fill the void.

Awww...this is a very nice post! I found them before SC & can't believe they're gone. If I needed anything that I couldn't find here, I was confident I could find it at 2Peas.

Two peas closing has made me realize how small the memory keeping community is! I'm so happy to be a part of it, but anxious to make it grow!
