Farewell to an Industry Pioneer
Tags:2 Peas and owner Kristina Nicolai-White have been instrumental to my life both personally and professionally. Without her influence I may have never become so involved in the scrapbooking industry or started Studio Calico 7 years ago. At the time, I was a traveling professional with no kids and there were few supplies locally that suited my needs as a papercrafter. Enter 2peas, a fascinating online company with a welcoming community providing quality products and galleries upon galleries of inspiration. It was through them I formed early friendships in the industry, learned the difference between pigment and dye inks, and how to set an eyelet.
While I am sad to see a wonderful business exit the industry, I am confident the contribution 2peas made as an early trendsetting company, has set the stage for memory keepers to build on their knowledge and excitement for pretty paper. Documenting our memories is an art, a lifestyle, and most importantly how we capture our lives. I am thankful for Kristina’s eye for design and the countless stickers and papers she curated for us over the years as well as the community she provided that allowed us to share our passion.
What we will all remember is the art, the friendships, and the memories that we captured through 2peas’ products and services.

So shocking! 2Peas has been my major crafting source for only a few years, but they seemed like the most stable and vital part of my life! Good luck to all the great people behind the web-site, you will be absolutely missed! Thanks for the great job!

I think twopeas was a wonderful place to find very all for the scrapbooking. but, when I arrived at checkout, I saw 50-70 dollars plus dogana for shipment!!! so I didn't do The order!!! for a few of things! they aren't costs that I can substain for the scrap. In The past I've choosen to sub here for free shipment and zero dogana.

I think it was about 15 years ago that I had the flew and was surfing on my I-mac that I discovered something called 'scrapbooking' on an american website called 2peasinabucket... I am hooked ever since!
So sad that an amazing company driven by passion like this have to close their doors...

I had only ordered from them once. Their customer service was horrific, I ended having to claim back through paypal. Their postage was rediculous too, and the import fees.. I will miss their videos very much, so creative - but maybe this is what went wrong, customer service is key.

It was my first community in english when in Spain was not known scrapbooking, with them I learned all. Funny moments in social CHA's, and inspiring galleries. I bought my first scrapbooking stuff there, and I had the honor of being a digital Garden Girl for a while ... I'm going to miss you, and best wishes to all the pea family <3

I found 2 Peas at the lowest point of my life thus far. I was badly hurt at work and could no longer work - or walk much at all. I was housebound and in terrible pain. I found them by googling scrapbooking. I was caught up in the inspiration, the classes, the tutorials... and the marvelous shopping that I could not get locally (I still can't)! It gave me a reason to get up each day - and some days, it still does. Now I have Studio Calico and the inspiration and classes here. There were no other places like 2 Peas... and I will miss them terribly.

I can't believe that TwoPeas is closing. Two Peas was the place where I discovered scrapbooking. I've been a Pea since 2006, was part of their first digital CT and also worked there as digital designer until the digital store closed two years ago. So sad to see it goes.

I am incredibly saddened. I loved their designer galleries. It worries me that scrap booking will not survive. Thank you for your words.

I worry too that Scrapbooking may not survive. I have been scrapbooking for 15 years ( as old as my first born, my son.). I can't believe they are going away. So sad. What is next for Scrapbooking? Worried

I am very sad about this. I have learned so much from the video and tutorials and by browsing their galleries. It was more than a store, it was a warehouse of ideas. I hope all the designers that I have come to love can find other venues in which to share their talents.

Farewell 2 Peas... I remember spotting Kristina at CHA in 2001... it was more exciting than seeing a movie star! The industry has taken some hard knocks since then... We all need to USE OUR STUFF if the industry is to survive :o)

I concur with the sadness - I am a traditional SB'er and relied on 2P's gallery, forums and site for inspiration as I do SC's. A lot of great information passed through the forums and I hate to see it go. I thank you Kristina for opening up doors for us and thank you April for taking the lead from her keeping our passion alive. Wish you well Kristina.

So very well said April. Two Peas was the first online forum I ever participated in and it is what eventually led me here to Studio Calico. I had the honor of meeting Kristina at the Two Peas 10th Birthday Crop, she was super sweet. With no LSS's in my area and the recent closure of Archiver's I was ordering from Two Peas in addition to my subscription here, I will really miss access to all those great supplies. I also loved Two Peas because it was a Wisconsin based company and I love to support business in my state. I am so happy to have SC and hope that we will be chatting, sharing and creating together long into the future.
