Weekly Challenge | Washi with Brooke

Tags:

This week, our member Brooke (username welobellie), is challenging you to make a dent in your washi stash and use it in a big way on your next project. We're excited to turn our weekly challenges over to the SC community! Check in each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to follow Brooke here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a super crafty weekend. I'm so excited to be sharing my layout, Sunshine & Happiness, with you today. I know I'm not alone when I say that I've accumulated quite the washi collection over the years. Using small pieces here and there doesn't seem to making any dent in my stash. So, when I saw the fun washi in the High Striker PL add-on, I knew I wanted to use it in a big way. The colorful, ombre, airmail stripes reminded me of the beach and I knew a big washi sunburst was the answer. Finishing off the layout with a few bits and pieces from the Penny Arcade kits was the perfect way to keep the viewer's focus on the photo of my daughter and that pretty washi sunburst.

And now it's time for you to go through your washi stash (I know you have one) and use it in a big way. Whether on a PL spread, card or layout, I challenge you to use washi as the main design element on your project. Thanks so much for joining me today! Have an awesome week!! -Brooke

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Brooke's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by July 21st and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's Challenge winner will be announced in the August 2nd Layout of the Week post.
