Sunday Sketch | Tina

This week, our layout sketch is an 8.5x11 layout with triangle elements and a single photo. Our card sketch features hanging elements and our Project Life sketch uses a diagonal caption . Creative Team member, Tina Aszmus, is joining us this week & sharing her take on all three of our sketches! Be sure to follow Tina here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 8.5x11 layout sketch comes from Lexi Bridge's OUT layout:

Our card sketch comes from Jenn Picard's Joy card:

And our Project Life sketch comes from Marcy Penner's September 2014 spread:

And here's Tina's take on our layout sketch:

I used the overall sketch to create this art journal type layout. I played on the random triangles in the inspiration layout. I added a few cut & sewed triangles using the vellum leaves in the Baker Bridge add on to fill in the window of my photograph. I also cut the b&w tree tag in the same add on and backed it with a journal card from Firchburg Project Life add on. I created a pocket with that card to house a little journaling. I finished off the layout with a little acrylic paint that I swiped on with a credit card.

Supplies: Kits - Walden Scrapbook Kit, Concord Add-on Kit, Baker Bridge Add-on Kit, Firchburg Add-on Kit; Stamps - Holiday Stamp Set

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by November 24th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the November 29th Layout of the Week post.

Great sketches! I used the scrapbook layout one and it forced me to use those wooden triangles I'd been hoarding ;)

This is my very loose take on the sketch. I used speech bubbles instead of the triangles.

I loved Jenn's card so much, I pretty much copied it exactly - just with a different stamp and cutout circles. I'll be making many more of these! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/145740-ornament-cutouts-card
