Using the Summit Kits with Carson Riutta

Hello, my crafty friends! Today I want to share one of the Documenter projects I created this month using the "Summit" Documenter Kit and add-ons. For this project, I had the freedom to use any of the supplies sent to me in my box, which included the main kit, the Love stamp set, and the stunning "Sugar Mountain" embellishment kit. I needed to document a recent trip we took to Thomas Jefferson’s historic homestead, Monticello. I loved the way the photos went well with all the muted pinks and yellows in the two kits and how seamlessly I was able to incorporate some of the Valentine-themed products. 

I’m a huge fan of saving tickets to use in my memory keeping. They are fantastic for titles, especially if you get a little tired of arranging letter stickers now and then; I’m sure we’ve all been there. When I paired our Monticello entry ticket with that sweet die-cut ticket from the embellishment kit, I knew I wanted that title card to have a passport-like vibe. So I finished it off with a fitting sticker and passport stamp with the date written in. 

Once my title card was created and my photos were arranged, it was just a matter of making sure my predominant colors were spread around the page—mostly the pinks, yellows, and bold blacks. I added that pastel teal card as a way to balance some of the strong blues in the photos and also because it was a phrase that I feel Jefferson could really get behind!

The whole day was extremely inspiring to all of us, excluding the four-year-old, and I wanted to get that across in this layout by adding those inspirational phrase cards, the smaller stamped details, and the many heart icons. I left myself two spots for journaling, which always seems to be enough space to tell my story but not be overwhelmed by the empty page. I can’t wait to see what you all create with these beautiful "Summit" Kits. They are so much fun to work with and so versatile for all kinds of storytelling!
