Use Your Stamps to Make Baby Shower Gifts! | Julie Campbell

I recently hosted a baby shower for my sister & wanted to include a fun activity for all of the guests. I created a variety of stencils using freezer paper, & everyone was able to decorate a baby onesie. We all had such a great time, & I was amazed at how beautiful the finished designs turned out!

When I was looking for images to use as stencil designs, one of my favorite places to turn to was the Studio Calico digital shop. The digital stamp brushes work great for this type of project! In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make a freezer paper stencil using the Silhouette. If you don’t have access to an electronic die cut machine, you can also print the design & hand cut the images with a precision knife.

I’ll also show you a trick for using the Color Theory acrylic paints on fabric. These baby onesies are machine washable & the colors stay soft & vibrant. Of course, these techniques can be used on any type or size of apparel. Many of the guests at the baby shower loved the finished product so much that they wanted to make their own custom T’s & tanks.

One of the great things about using digital stamp brushes is that you can create custom gift packaging with the coordinating acrylic stamps. In this video, I’ll also show you how to make a matching gift bag & tag using stamps from the November Card Kit.

I hope you give these techniques a try & I’d love to see your results!
