This week, our layout sketch is an 8.5x11 layout with one horizontal photo and a split design. Our card sketch features repeated embellishments and a sentiment on strips and our Project Life sketch uses a circle for a caption and lots of room for journaling. Creative Team member, Dana Fleckenstein, is joining us this week & sharing her take on our Project Life sketch! Be sure to follow Dana here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 12x12 sketch comes from Melanie Louette's Everyday Awesome Moments layout:
Our card sketch comes from Agnieszka Malyszek's Hello card:
And our Project Life sketch comes from Maria Lacuesta's 1,2,3 spread:
And here's Dana's take on our layout sketch:
For my card today, I was working with the scrapbook layout sketch. It's been fun to translate the design to a smaller scale. First, I decided to switch out white space and patterned paper areas so I ended up with just one strip of paper towards the bottom of my card. Since I had no photo to work with, I used a larger die-cut title to replace it and added a complimentary stamped sentiment for the journaling. I loved Melanie's star elements, especially since I was working on a New Year's card, and kept that in form of a few Color Theory gold sequins. A few very fine sprinkles of Mister Huey finished it all off.
Supplies: Park Avenue Dots & Stripes Pad, Craft Die: Happy by Paper Sushi, Silhouette Printable Gold Foil (Adhesive), More Solar White cardstock, Mister Huey's Inky Black, Color Theory Sequins Pack - 24 Karat, Glossy Accents, VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad, Gold Zing Metallic embossing powder, This to That Foam Tab Squares, This to That Strip Glue Runner
