This week, our layout sketch is an 8.5x11 layout with two photo booth style photo strips. Our card sketch features a focal embellishment and sentiment strip and our Project Life sketch uses a 3x4 photo, speech bubble caption and plenty of room for journaling. Creative Team member, Maggie Massey, is joining us this week & sharing her take on our scrapbook sketch! Be sure to follow Maggie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 8.5x11 sketch comes from Geralyn Sy's So Sweet layout:
Our card sketch comes from Dana Fleckenstein's Hello, Hello card:
And our Project Life sketch comes from Geralyn Sy's Manilla spread:
And here's Maggie's take on our Project Life sketch:
I was really excited when I saw the sketches for this week because I already had a photo in mind that I wanted to use and the Project Life sketch was a perfect way to use it! I stuck really close to the original spread design for my page and I love the way it turned out. The American Crafts large white alpha from Ivy Tower adds just enough texture and dimension to help fill out the page, but the white tone on tone helps keep the layout clean and simple...just like the sketch.
Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in theStudio Calico gallery.
