LOTW | Nicole

Our Layout of the Week, Girl Day, comes from our member Nicole (username nicolereaves). Nicole's beautiful layout caught everyone's eye in the member gallery with its gorgeous design, red hearts, beautiful paper layers and sweet photo! To keep up with Nicole and see more of her work, be sure to follow her here at SC!

"I've been working to kill my Studio Calico scrapbook kits from 2014 and had a bunch of pretty scraps from Sugar Rush to use up before I felt I could call the kit 'done.' I already had this little photo printed and just started stacking the papers underneath it, playing with how they overlapped each other and what patterns peeked out. I snuck in a larger light colored patterned paper for my journaling - where I wrote about my first girl day with my daughter, Morgan, before she started kindergarten. I added some horizontal stitching, stapled on a couple embellishments, and then stuck a few foam dots under the layers to make them pop more. The dark gray cardstock and heavy layering are a departure from my usual layouts but I love how it turned out. Thank you so much to Studio Calico and this awesome community for choosing my layout as Layout of the Week!"

This is just so striking! I don't know how I missed it in the gallery. So glad SC has this feature on their blog.

I wish I could restrain myself and avoid covering EVERY inch of the paper so I could make something this beautiful but I doubt I ever could.
