Sunday Sketch | Dana Fleckenstein
This week, our layout sketch is an 8.5x11 layout with bold colors and pretty stitching. Our card sketch features cute frogs and sentiments and our Project Life sketch uses a small square photo with embellishments. Creative Team member, Dana Fleckenstein, is joining us this week & sharing her take on both our scrapbook and Project Life® sketch! Be sure to follow Dana here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our 8.5x11 layout sketch comes from Geralyn Sy's You Make Me So Happy layout:
Our card sketch comes from Cristina's It Ain't Easy Frog card:
Our Project Life sketch comes from Stephanie Bryan's Project Life spread:
When working with the Sunday sketches, I usually like to go with something other than the card sketch just so I don't take it to literally. This time I couldn't decide between working with Geralyn's cute layout and Stephanie's beautiful PL sketch. Since they looked a little similar to me once I turned the PL card by 90°, I used influences of both.
First, instead of using a photo, I used a larger spiral notebook piece to create a focal and arranged my sentiment and stamped images on it. I liked the washi tape and label as well as how the circle was hanging of to the side on Geralyn's layout and incorporated that on the card.
From Stephanie's PL card I took the clue to have the mat overlap both the upper and the lower section of the background and to place the sentiment directly over the bunny images.
Supplies: Kits - Odyssey Card Kit (patterned paper), Walden Card Kit (label), Marks & Co Card Kit (washi tape); stamps: Easter Gift Tag stamp and die; ink - Onyx Black Versafine Ink; other - small acrylic block, This to That Foam Tab Circles, This to That Solid Glue Runner
