Tutorial - Start to Finish Layout | Geralyn Sy

Calypso

I started by printing out two photos to fit in the chipboard frames from the Calypso add-on. I love the colors and designs of these frames, and that the "inner" pieces can be used as embellishments as well.

I arranged my chipboard frames on a piece of white cardstock (my layout base) and added another chipboard piece as well as a die-cut from Athena.

Time to stamp that adorable cat stamp! I stamped him with black ink, and then used my watercolors to give him a soft grey tone.

I adhered the cat beside my "love this" frame with some foam adhesive and added a few other stamped elements around him as well.

Next, I pulled out my current favorite alpha stamps – the new Laina stamps. They are a beautiful, simple font and I love their large size. I stamped the alpha stamps with black ink to spell out my title.

Since the alphas are so clean and thin, I offset and stamped the letters again with some colored inks. It adds some interesting detail and an extra punch of color to my page.

Underneath my frames, I added a few smaller embellishments, stickers, and patterned paper so that it isn’t so plain.

At the top of my layout, I used a strip of washi tape (from Calypso) and a black die-cut label from the Odyssey scrapbook kit.

I finished my layout with some journaling in the label die-cut and some simple stamping with the Kal Barteski roller stamp from the Scrapbook Main kit and a date stamp.

Thanks for joining me today!
