Sunday Sketch | Natalie Elphinstone
Tags:This week, our layout sketch is a 12x12 layout with patterned paper layers and simple embellishments. Our card sketch features a stamped background and banner accents and our Project Life sketch uses a 4x6 photo with a tag and a smaller photo on a journaling card. Get creative and be sure to share you layouts here with us! We can't wait to see what you create! Creative Team contributor, Natalie Elphinstone, is joining us this week and sharing her take on a both the scrapbook and card sketches! Be sure to follow Natalie here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Our Project Life sketch comes from Allison Waken's Project Life® spread:

I love working with sketches. It takes some of the guess-work out of the design process but it still allows you the opportunity to change things around a bit to make it your own. That's what I've done with the sketches today. With the layout sketch I took the idea of the stack of vertical elements to the left of the photo and used different embellishments instead of the strips of paper than Lilin used. Not being able to resist the giant mint chipboard letters from the scrapbook kit I painted it with gesso to better fit my colour scheme.

Loved the idea of cutting up strips of patterned paper to use as the background for a layout.

The card is so pretty. And I love the layout. Great idea to color or gesso over the large alpha. Cute story too. Love all the bits surrounding the photo.
