Tags:

This week, our member Anke (username Anke Kramer), is challenging you to add hand cut embellishments and additions to your next project!! We love how she added in the hand cut details in with the transparent fruit pieces from the Far Far Away Scrapbook kit! Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure visit Anke to see more of her work and keep up with her!

My name is Anke and I’m from Germany. I’m very excited to be issuing this week’s challenge. When I picked out the picture for this layout I knew immediately that it would work perfectly with the transparent fruit shapes from the Far Far Away scrapbook kit. So that was my starting point. I wanted this part of the layout to stand out so I just added two narrow stripes of patterned paper and a few more embellishments. I like to use handcut shapes on my pages. Many papers have beautiful designs and prints that can be cut out and used as extra embellishments. One of the papers I used here has a leaf print and I cut out some leaves and combined them with small diecut leaves. I finished my layout adding some machine sewing and a few drops of Mr Huey’s Inky Black. And here is my challenge for you: use handcut elements to embellish your layout or card I’m excited to see your creations.

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Anke's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by April 13th and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the April 18th Layout of the Week post.
