Weekly Challenge | Sprinkle on Confetti
This week, our member Karen (username HelloTodayCreate), is challenging you to add some fun in your projects by using confetti!! Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure visit Karen to see more of her work and keep up with her!
Hello there! Week seventeen was a tough one around here; my hometown went through what has now been classed as a Natural Disaster, our town flooded. I’ve never seen so much rain in my life. Our yard could not cope with it at all, so we were sweeping & bucketing water out for days & into the nights too to keep it from coming inside, we managed, we were tired and we had blisters on our feet and hands, but…. ‘WE ARE HERE’. We have to document bad times with the good times don’t we, it helped me process it all. I decided to document a whole spread to that week, we survived & we are together. I used two different types of confetti pockets in this weeks project life layout, odd choice I know, but I wanted to re-create rain, so one pocket has sequins & hearts and the other has 1 inch punched circles from scrap paper. I challenge you to create a layout using confetti, you don’t have to have a sewing machine, hand stitch across the top of the plastic sleeve or even use Washi tape to hold them in. I can’t wait for you to share what you create.
Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Karen's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by May 18th and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the May 23rd Layout of the Week post.
What a great way to document a not so great thing. Thanks for sharing this challenge.

I layered acetate on either side of the painted wood veneer and loaded it with confetti made from the coral bay sequins that came with my fuse tool.
