Weekly Challenge | Writing Love Letters

This week, our member Melanie (username MelBG), is challenging you to write a love letter to someone special!! Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure visit Melanie to see more of her work and keep up with her!

Hi all – my layout for this challenge is about the relationship between my daughter, how it has changed since her little sister came along and what I hope for it to be in the future. It is a heartfelt love letter to her, thus I wanted the picture and the writing to take centre stage. I used my very favourite paper from the Lisse Street Scrapbook kit and the darling sticker as a title. To embellish the layout and create some interest I made little clusters from bits and pieces laying on my scrap table like washi and glitter tape, paper strips, stickers and printable labels. The older “I love you to the stars and back” SC stamp worked perfectly for the theme. I stamped it on some star patterned paper, punched it and outlined it using a black pen. The bottom third of the layout is reserved for the handwritten journaling to make it even more personal.

Now, my challenge to you is to write a love letter to your child, spouse, partner, friend or any other loved one using your own handwriting to make it even more special. You might, for example, write about why you love this person, what makes them so unique, how your love has changed over time, what you wish for them or what the future might hold for your love. I look forward to seeing your creations and love letters!

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Melanie's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by June 1st and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the June 6th Layout of the Week post.

Thanks for this challenge, it was fun! Only change I made was I couldn't do it in my own writing as I just don't like my writing (I hope that is ok).
