Tutorial: Making a Canyonlands Documenter kit Spread with Geralyn Sy

Tags:

Hey everyone! I’m sharing a Documenter spread and my process of putting it together using the November Canyonlands kits today. I love the embellishments in these kits, and though I like to keep my spreads quite clean and simple, I found that the embellishments add the perfect little touch.

As always, I started my spread off by printing my photographs, trimming them and arranging them on my page protector.

Then I chose my journaling cards to see which would be a good fit for my spread. Doing this step gives me an overall feel for the colors, tones and look of the layout.

Once I have my cards and photos arranged, I like working on each individual card. I started with the card in the middle, and I stamped the LifeLovePaper ‘currently’ stamp on it and adhered my photo underneath it.

For my next card (the striped one), I wanted to create a filler card relating to autumn so I chose some of the beautiful leaf die-cuts from the Documenter kit.

On top of the leaves, I layered a cork circle and a little heart sticker, then I added a small no.1 stamp to finish it off. It’s the simple layering details that really make this card complete!

On my last card, I added the name of the café we visited with some alpha stickers. I added the date with my date stamp, used adhered a star sequin and wrote my journaling.

My spread was almost done! I decided to add a couple more stickers from the cool sticker sheet in the scrapbook kit before calling it complete.

Here’s my completed spread. Simple and clean, with lots of little details. Very much my style. Hope you enjoyed looking at my process!
