Contributor Center Stage: Cristina

This March, we're thrilled to dedicate the Contributor Center Stage to Creative Team Contributor Cristina (CristinaC)! Cristina is an active part of the Studio Calico community, sharing her beautiful layouts and cards. Be sure to check out her projects in the gallery this month! Take a few minutes to learn a little more about Cristina — her crafting history, organization techniques and more! We're so thankful for our talented team that helps to spread the joy of memory-keeping all over the world.

1. How long have you been scrapbooking?

I have been a digital scrapbooker since 2008, and a paper scrapbooker since late 2012. Somewhere in between that time, I also started doing hybrid scrapbooking, cardmaking and Project Life.

2. What’s your go-to technique?

Stamping! I rarely make a project without stamps. They’re just the perfect touch for me!

3. Would you mind sharing some photos of how one such project came together?

I love using digital files in my projects. For this page, I used the Homespun cut file by Paige Evans. I envisioned having these clouds cut out of white cardstock, and popped up against a white background. I also cut some pieces of paper from the Homespun 6x6 paper pad to back the clouds (my love for color always wins after all!).

Next, I arranged the clouds on my background and started to think about where to place my photo.

Once I was happy with the placement of the clouds, I added pop dots under my clouds to give them dimension and adhered them.

I selected a few embellishments from Pocket - the Documenter add on kit - to finish my page. I added some journaling (after the photos were taken) to talk about how this is a time of transition on my life - which is why I thought the clouds matched the feel of this page so well.

4. How do you stay organized?

My craft space cannot be called organized, but it’s in a state of controlled chaos. I know where everything is, and that’s a time saver. I have two Ikea Raskog carts that host all my stamps and my Documenter kits - I love having everything within reach.

5. What is the crafting tool you can’t live without?

There’s isn’t anything I can’t live without, except my computer, but I do love my tools. I love my Big Shot die cutting machine, and recently I’ve fallen in love with the Fuse and the Minc.

6. Where do you go to get ideas?

I mostly get inspired from the products themselves, but I do love how the Studio Calico classes stretch my creativity and make me try new things. My favorite social media by far is Instagram, I love checking out my feed multiple times a day. You can find me at http://instagram/cristinac81

7. Anything else we should know about you and/or your style?

I love color, and I love bunnies. This month I am hosting the LOAW challenges in the forum - one challenge per week to keep you inspired throughout the month. I hope you’ll play along! http://www.studiocalico.com/community/challenge-central
