Using the Young At Heart Scrapbook Kit with Geralyn Sy

Today I'm sharing one of my layouts from the Young At Heart gallery. I really like how the stamp set worked perfectly with the journaling card patterned paper this month - it was really easy to pick a sentiment that would work well with my photo. I started by arranging my patterned papers, journaling card and photo until I was happy with how they looked. Then I added the chipboard alphas and some of the die-cuts (popped up with foam adhesive) for some extra dimension on my layout.

To decorate my layout more, I doodled on my background with a white pen - a quick and easy way to dress up plain cardstock! Simple shapes are the way to go with doodling - I drew dots, triangles, crosses, and tree shapes. Think of more organic shapes as well such as tulips and basic florals. This is a really great way to add some whimsy and complete a layout!
